Plain Tiling
Plain tiles are approximately 265 x165 mm wide and can be laid down to a pitch of 35 deg. They are used extensively as vertical cladding with purpose-made corners and patterned tiles usually available from most manufacturers.
Concrete plain tiles are available in a variety of surface textures and styles and generally have a double camber.
- Average weight for concrete plain tiles ; 74 kg / m sq
- Clay plain tile finishes are generally smooth or sand faced with either single or double camber.
- Average weight for clay plain tiles: 71kg/ m sq
Interlocking Tiles
Sizes and profiles of interlocking tiles vary considerably between manufacturers along with the weights and performance statistics. Finishes generally are sand faced
or smooth and are generally fixed with clips or nails to 50x25mm tanalised timber battens.
- Minimum pitch around 22.5 deg for concrete tiles. Weighing approximately 50 kg / m sq
- Minimum pitch around 17.5 deg for Clay tiles. Weighing approximately 45 kg / m sq

Once we receive your Roofing or Scaffolding enquiry, we will make an appointment to suit you, on the day of the appointment we will attend and inspect.
Sometimes it is possible to provide a quotation instantly if we get the correct information and photographs.
Within 24hrs of our inspection we will provide you with your quotation in writing along with any other information you may require.
Once we have your approval, we will then book the works date.
On completion of the work, we will provide you with your invoice and pictures.
We never subcontract our roof work.

Some Advice
Trying to select the right Roofing or Scaffolding contractor can be quite a daunting task but checking the company online and looking into their customer reviews is a brilliant tool. Please see above some of our memberships, which should give you the confidence in placing your works with us. We are also Trading Standards Approved.
I Survey around 50 roofs a week and at least 5% of customers have already been ripped off. Rogue traders have been known to erect scaffolding at the time of inspection without authorisation and also a common problem is asking for cash. Another common problem a trader starting work and then halfway through approaching the client and telling them there are thousands of pounds more work this is completely unprofessional and places the trader and client in an extremely difficult situation were the client feels they have no choice but to pay.
My advice to anyone looking for a quote, always check the company online, check the reviews, Ltd Company is always the best option, make sure the works are insurance backed, always get your quote in writing, always ask for your invoice.
- Do not authorise works or give a deposit unless you have a written quotation.
- If you feel pressured in authorising the works stop and make sure you are comfortable before authorisation remember you also have a 14 day cooling off period unless you request the works to start before the 14 days are up.
- Check that your contractor has the right insurance one of the most common problems found with Roofing or Scaffolding companies is that they don't hold the correct insurance to use heat on your property or work at height.
- Never pay cash always pay your deposit and total amount into an account either in the business name or directors name.
- And finally if you are unsure about authorising works with any contractor you are always welcome to give us a call directly and we will make sure that the contractor that you are using is doing things right this is a service we have always offered and it's free.

We offer a professional scaffold erecting and dismantling service in London Essex & Kent
We are a local scaffolding London and Essex based company who have a fully trained group of Advanced scaffolders ready to take on any type of scaffold hire project you have and this includes small residential access towers, large commercial warehouse scaffolds, temporary roofs, large construction sites and everything else. We have offices in Hackney Dagenham and South Ockendon.
Our Scaffold process is as follows:
- Request a same day quote (where possible) via our online form, email, or WattsApp).
- We may require additional information or a site visit to clarify the type of access required.
- You will receive a quotation from us (detailing our prices and hire period normally same day)
- If you are happy to proceed, we will get you booked to put up the scaffold.
- If required, we will also apply for a pavement licence with your local council.
- We will arrive on the date agreed to erect your Scaffolding.
- You will keep the scaffold for the hire period agreed or once you have completed your works.
- Any agreed alterations or adaptions will be carried out.
- Once you are ready for us to return and dismantle, please give us a call to arrange and we will book you in.
- Finally, we will arrive and take down the structure.
- Please note all H+S Safety inspections are also included this is a legal requirement.
